What the visit is like
Your joints are examined and graded, and the things that are making it worse — weight, footwear, activity, sleep — are addressed before any procedure is discussed. Replacement is not the opening move.
Questions about this treatment
Can arthritis be cured?
Not reversed, but it can be managed well. The aim is to keep the joint working and comfortable for as long as possible. Anyone promising a cure is selling something.
Will I eventually need a replacement?
Some people never do. Replacement is for a joint that has stopped working despite everything else. That decision is made on your joint, not on your age or on a timetable.
Does diet affect arthritis?
A balanced diet helps your general health and supports the weight that loads your joints, which matters a great deal. Beyond that, no specific diet has been shown to reverse arthritis.
