What the visit is like
You are assessed for movement, strength and balance, and given a programme with a defined progression. It is reviewed as you progress rather than issued once.
Questions about this treatment
Will physiotherapy fix my joint?
It builds strength, movement and confidence, which is often what makes the difference between a joint that works and one that does not. It does not undo structural damage that needs surgery.
How long will rehabilitation take?
It depends on the surgery or injury and on how consistently you do the programme. You will be given a realistic plan at the start and revised as it goes.
Is it painful?
Discomfort during exercises is normal; sharp pain is a signal to stop and report. The programme is designed so you can tell the difference.
